Voncile was born in Kingman KS 4/13/38 to Carl A & Anna A (Brown) Bolinger.
Voncile was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Anna and siblings, Joyce and Glen. She is survived by dozens of cousins and many, many former students and friends.
She grew up on the family farm near Cheney, KS. Attended 8 years of grade school at Pleasant Valley School in rural Kingman County KS. She attended High school in Cheney where she graduated as salutatorian of her class. She went on to college at Southwestern College in Winfield where she graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1960. And her teaching certificate in 1961. Her first teaching job was in Hoisington and then she moved to Ulysses and taught for another 40 years.
She was a longtime member of the UCC church in Cheney. The Baptist church in Ulysses where she played the piano. When she retired, she moved back to the farm near Cheney to live with her brother and sister and attended the TUCC church in Cheney. Where she stayed involved helping get food ready for the fair booth and baking pies. Her faith was amazing.
She was also a member of Eastern Star and Rebecca’s/Noble Grand, Tops; gas club and TOPS
Voncile passed away at Wheatland Heath Care Center, June 12, 2021 where she had been a resident since Oct 2019. Memorials are to the TUCC church in Cheney and the Diabetes Association in care of Livingston Mortuary, Kingman, KS 67068
The family will greet people at the mortuary: Livingston’s Funeral Home Friday, June 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The service will be: Saturday, June 19, 2021 10:00 am TUCC (Trinity United Christian Church) 416 Washington St in Cheney, KS Burial at Fairview Cemetery following service.
