HUTCHINSON — The playground at Orchard Park, located on 43rd Avenue east of Halstead Street, will be temporarily closed starting Tuesday for scheduled surfacing repairs.
In a Facebook post, city officials say the closure is necessary to perform maintenance work that will improve safety and extend the life of the playground. The area will be barricaded while crews complete the project.
Following the repairs, the playground will remain closed for an additional 48 hours to allow the new surface to fully dry and cure before reopening to the public.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternative parks during the closure. They expressed appreciation for the community’s patience as it works to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children and families.
