Doris Gene Heim, 84, of Buhler, died August 12, 2021, at Hospice House. She was born April 24, 1937, in Fairview, Oklahoma to Newton and Grace (Beck) Dyche.

Doris and her family moved to South Hutchinson when she was young and then eventually to Hutchinson. On November 27, 1953, she married William Walter Heim Jr., in Hutchinson. Together they had four children. Doris loved her family and they often went on camping trips. In 1978 they moved to Buhler. Doris had many different jobs, including: Bond Bakery, Bag Factory, Astro Motel, Scottsmen Inn and First Christian Academy. Her husband, William, passed away on May 10, 2011, after 58 years of marriage. In 2016, Doris moved to Buhler Sunshine Home. She enjoyed knitting and making hats for infants at the hospital. Doris also loved her dogs, Heidi, Benji, and Porky.

She is survived by: son, Alvin Heim, California; daughters, Shirley Brunn (Paul), Lori Howard (Charlie), both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, David and Sarah Heim, Bambi Brunn, Joseph Thayer; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Tanner, Kimberly, Alva, Cheyenne, Ty, Jackie, Dezirae, Natasha, Tabs, Benson, Hunter, Preston, Adriana; and great great-grandchild, Cameron.

Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; Husband, William Heim Jr.; son, Alan Heim; great-grandchild, Dewitt; brothers, Earl and Alvin Dyche; sisters, Charlotte McAdams, Vina Pike, Hazel Bishop; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Heim.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
