IRVING, Texas &ndash;&nbsp;Kansas baseball sophomore&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/dominic-voegele/16130" rel="smarttag" rev="16130">Dominic Voegele</a></dfn>&nbsp;has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Monday. &nbsp; Voegele was dominant on Friday night in a 2-0 victory at Utah. He pitched a career-high 8.2 innings and did not allow a run or walk. Voegele had five strikeouts in his outing and retired 12 consecutive batters from the final out of the fifth inning all the way through the first two outs of the ninth inning. It was Voegele's fifth quality start of the year. &nbsp; The 8.2 scoreless innings helped Kansas record the second of back-to-back shutouts, marking the first time in program history that Kansas had a shutout in consecutive road games against Division I opponents (9-inning games). &nbsp; A native of Columbia, Illinois, Voegele is third in the Big 12 with 66.2 innings pitched, tied for fifth in the conference with six wins and is ninth in the league with 60 strikeouts. &nbsp; Voegele won Big 12 Pitcher of the Week earlier this season on March 31.&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/brady-ballinger/16147" rel="smarttag" rev="16147">Brady Ballinger</a></dfn>,&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/tommy-barth/16141" rel="smarttag" rev="16141">Tommy Barth</a></dfn>,&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/michael-brooks/16122" rel="smarttag" rev="16122">Michael Brooks</a></dfn>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/jackson-hauge/16155" rel="smarttag" rev="16155">Jackson Hauge</a></dfn>&nbsp;have all won Big 12 weekly awards this season in addition to Voegele. &nbsp; No. 23 Kansas (35-10, 15-6 Big 12) is riding an eight-game winning streak, which includes back-to-back Big 12 series sweeps of Kansas State and Utah. The 35 wins are the most in a season for Kansas since 2014 and the 15 wins in Big 12 games are tied for the most in a season in program history. &nbsp; KU is currently in second place in the Big 12 standings. Kansas is back home at Hoglund Ballpark for four games this week, with a game on Tuesday against Missouri at 6 p.m. CT and a weekend conference series against Cincinnati from May 2-4.</div>
