The X-ray machine at the Reno County Courthouse is once again fully operational, restoring normal security screening procedures after being out of service for several weeks.
The machine was taken offline on July 16, 2025, forcing courthouse security staff to manually and visually inspect all bags, boxes, purses, and other items brought into the building. Officials said the change was necessary to maintain safety but acknowledged it caused longer wait times and inconvenience for visitors.
With repairs complete, security personnel have resumed using the X-ray scanner, which speeds up the screening process and reduces the need for physical bag searches.
