HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Public Schools Board of Education has approved a contract with RSP & Associates.
"I don't want you guys to just come in and do another enrollment boundary study," said USD 308 Superintendent Mike Folks. I want you to look at it more comprehensively. I gave them five or six different things that I would like for them to study. You have to give a group a great deal of autonomy. It might go a different direction, you just don't know, but it needs to be looked at."
Included in the project will be an enrollment analysis, current elementary boundary analysis and facilities analysis.
"They will give us options," said district spokesperson Ray Hemman. "They have given us options in the past. The community group will make a recommendation to the board, the direction the community group thinks we should go."
There are no preconceived conclusions going into the study, but the goal is to be as efficient with taxpayer dollars as possible.
