HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Rural Fire District 9 in Haven will be getting two new fire trucks. After initial approval was given last month, Reno County commissioners approved a contract with Hays Fire and Rescue for two new brush trucks.
The trucks will run just over $102,000 — although the county will get a fleet discount from Ford for the chassis. The county wanted to add a clause to the contract due to potential delays in getting the truck because of the pandemic.
If Hays can’t provide the two vehicles within six months from the delivery of the Ford chassis, then the county can void the deal.
Also Tuesday, the board looked over the consent agenda, which included paying the county’s bills, and went into executive session for a legal matter. No action was taken.
