HUTCHINSON/RENO COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber is pleased to present the July Small Business of the Month Award to Wooten’s Sweet Cakes owned by Adam & Roseann Wooten.
Their business began when Adam Wooten, while working at The Hutchinson News, started bringing sweet treats to share with coworkers. What started as a kind gesture turned into a booming side gig—and before long, Adam and his wife Roseann were baking for birthdays, retirements, weddings, and every celebration you can imagine. Officially founded in 2017, Wooten’s Sweet Cakes has been crafting memories—and masterpieces—ever since.
Adam and Roseann are not just bakers—they're artists. From lemon-blueberry to white chocolate raspberry to “cherry-lemonade,” their signature flavors are as bold as their creativity. But it’s not just the taste that wows their customers—it’s the detail, the care, and the love poured into every bite. And if you’ve seen their work, you know: the pictures speak louder than words.

This small but mighty team has grown to include two part-time helpers, catering events for up to 350 people and booking over 45 weddings just this year—sometimes five in a single weekend! Their name is known and loved across the community—from Chamber events to Heartland Credit Union, Hutch Regional, and even our first responders.
What truly sets Wooten’s apart is Roseann’s passion for saying “yes.” Whether it’s a custom cake with little notice or sourcing hard-to-find supplies, she finds a way. Her resilience, especially through challenges like Covid or supply chain issues, is a testament to what small business is all about—grit, grace, and great cake.
The Wootens also believe deeply in giving back. Whether it’s donating cupcakes to nurses’ stations, delivering treats to local firehouses and police departments, or Adam’s role as a volunteer chaplain for law enforcement, their hearts are always in the right place.
Success to them isn’t just about sales—it’s about smiles. It’s about being part of someone’s wedding, birthday, or celebration. And their advice to other small businesses? Keep going. Even when progress feels slow, passion and perseverance will carry you through.
