One treated after Hutchinson house fire on Justice Street

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One person suffered a minor burn in a house fire Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Justice Street, according to the Hutchinson Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:30 p.m. to a reported structure fire and found a small fire at the rear of the home when crews arrived.

The fire produced smoke throughout the house, but firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and then cleared smoke from the residence.

One occupant was treated at the scene for a minor burn to a hand and was released, the fire department said.

Firefighters remained at the scene for a short time to clean equipment and investigate the cause.

The Hutchinson Fire Department said it was assisted by Reno County Emergency Dispatch, Reno County EMS, the Hutchinson Police Department and the Hutchinson Street Department.
