HUTCHINSON, Kan. — On September 20, the last Hutchinson crew and equipment was demobilized from the Dixie Fire and headed home. The crew and equipment safely arrived home on Friday morning, September 24.
The initial crew left Hutchinson on July 15 and was assigned to the Tumbledown Fire in Idaho where they stayed until August 24. Crews were then assigned to the Dixie Fire in northern California.
Twelve Hutchinson Fire Fighters along with 1 Kansas Forest Employee worked the 72 days.
