Preliminary hearing for HCF prison guard continued

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The preliminary hearing for a Hutchinson Correctional Facility employee was continued because he is in quarantine along with several witnesses and co-defendants.  

Twenty-two-year-old Zachary Woods of Newton faces eight different counts in an effort to smuggle K2 into the facility. Woods faces three counts of conspiracy, three counts of using a communication device to distribute drugs, one count of drug distribution and one count of trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.

According to the complaint, Woods is accused of using three different women to bring the synthetic marijuana into the facility over a period of two months.

The hearings for the three women, Esther Davis, Stephanie Thindiu and Denisha Starnes were also continued.
