The Hutchinson Public Library is closed today, Saturday, Nov. 22, following a major electrical failure inside the building.
Library Director Gregg Wamsley announced the closure Saturday morning, noting that the issue forced staff to shut down all public operations while repairs are underway.
“We have had a major electrical failure in the library building and are closed Saturday 11/22,” Wamsley said in a statement. “We hope to reopen Monday 11/24 assuming repairs can be made, but we will provide updates when we know more.”
No additional details about the source of the electrical problem were immediately available. Crews are assessing the extent of the damage and working to restore service as quickly as possible.
