
CONCORDIA, Kan. — Hutchinson (11-15, 6-14) jumped out to a 5-0 advantage on Cloud County (14-11, 9-10) before a five-plus-minute drought ultimately doomed the Dragons.
Hutchinson went scoreless during a stretch of 5 minutes and 28 seconds. During that drought, Cloud County went on a 13-0 run.
Hutchinson headed to the break down 14 points.
Cloud County's lead swelled to 28 points with 10:46 remaining.
Four Thunderbirds scored in double digits, led by M.J. Stackhouse's 18. He pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double.
Bobby Cannon led Hutchinson with 11 points on just 3-of-10 shooting.
Cloud shot 50% from the floor to Hutchinson's 35.6%.
The Thunderbirds made eight more field goals, including four more made threes.
