
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a violent attack and have a suspect in custody.
Just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the area of SE 10th Ave. and SE Branner Trafficway in Topeka on a report of a stabbing, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim with injuries believed to be consistent with a stabbing. American Medical Response transported her to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, officers located the suspect identified as Sean A. Coble, 31 of Topeka in the 1900 block of SE Adams Street. They arrested and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for Aggravated Battery.
The victim and suspect are known to one another and the incident is believed to be domestic in nature, according to police.
