John Wesley Graham |1937-2021|

John Wesley Graham, 84, of Burrton, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at his home. He was born June 9, 1937 in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Lettie (Litton) Graham.

John was a member of Haven Baptist Church since 1974. He volunteered as activity planner for the senior members, greeter, deacon and mission’s treasurer.

He was united in marriage to Mamie Sheib on November 14, 1959 in Auburn, Nebraska.

John worked for Haven Steel for 20 years, retiring in 1999. He worked the forge for the first 15 years, and in his last five years of employment, John was an expeditor.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie Graham of Burrton; daughter, Janet (David) Baker of Lynchburg, VA; son, Bill (Dianna) Graham of Nickerson; six grandchildren, Tyler (Jaclyn) Baker, Austin (Alexandria) Baker, Hillary Baker, Wesley (Jamie) Graham, Joshua (Jaimie) Graham, and David Graham; two great-grandchildren, Ellianna Grace Graham and Boden David Baker; one great-grandchild on the way; and sister-in-law, Judith Graham of WaKeeney.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Graham; sister, Anita Nevy; and three half-brothers, Elzo, Ernest and Charles Lint.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2021 at Haven Baptist Church, Haven, Kansas. Burial will follow at Valley Township Cemetery, rural Burrton. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Baptist Church in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.
