Lois Lee Hamilton Kostner, 87, was born Jan. 26, 1934, at Anthony, the daughter of Fenner Ward Hamilton and Pearl Oller Hamilton Guthridge.
She attended schools in Kansas City and Anthony, and worked at Olmstead Drug and Citizen’s National Bank in Anthony. She married Loren Leroy Kostner Oct. 6, 1957, in Anthony, and moved to the family farm at Murdock, where they lived the rest of their married life of 49 years and 8 months. They raised 2 children, Denise and Douglas, also wheat, cattle and sometimes as a prank for an anniversary or birthday, an anonymous gift of a goat or two and a donkey.
Lois liked to travel, go fishing, play cards, knit and read. Lois was a 21 year postal clerk and worked at Murdock, Norwich, Cheney and the main office in Wichita before retiring in 1993. After the death of Douglas and Loren, she moved to Kingman in 2009 and lived there until her death.
Preceding her in death were her parents, son Douglas George Kostner on Sept. 5, 2000 and husband Loren on May 24, 2007.
Survivors are daughter Denise (George) Batt, grandchildren Justin (Josie) Batt, Jared Batt, Cassandra Kostner (Jason) Wilson and Derek Kostner; great-grandchildren Macey and Madyson Batt; sister Georgia Klaver and Faye Williams; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of good friends.
Funeral services will be 2;00 p.m., Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. (The use of masks would be appreciated.) Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont.
