Virgil R. Ewy, 86, died July 19, 2021 at his home in Derby.
He was born Dec. 12, 1934, at Peabody, Kansas the son of Elmer and Tillie Albrecht Ewy. A longtime resident of Derby, he retired as Vice-President of IFR Systems, Inc.
Virgil was a member of the Lorraine Ave. Mennonite Church; and the K&O Engine Club.
On Sept. 13, 1960, he married Alana Graber at Kingman. Other survivors include sons Joel, Jeremy and Lael; step-brother Richard Holladay; step-sister Virginia Graber; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father Roscoe Holladay; and sister Kerren Krehbiel.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Kingman Mennonite Cemetery with the Rev. Christina Manero presiding. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingman Mennonite Church. The family requests that masks be worn during the memorial service.
