👟 Area teams shine at regional cross country

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Several area teams were successful at regional cross country on Saturday. 

Both the Buhler boys and girls won the regional they hosted at Hutchinson-Prairie Ridge Cross Country Park.The Buhler boys placed 3 in the top 5 as Kai Mendenhall finished first, Henry Trumpp was 3rd and Gavin Lindahl was 5th.  The Buhler boys had a team score of 32 while McPherson finished second with a score of 53.  The boys under Curtis Morgan have built a dynasty and will go for their 6th state title in the last 7 years.  

The Buhler girls had 5 finishers in the top 10 led by Corbin Starkweather placing first and Isabella Friesen was 3rd.  Buhler won the regional with a team score of 21 while the McPherson girls were second with a 42.  

In 2A the Trinity Catholic boys won the Marion Regional as they placed 3 in the top 10 lead by Jacob Linstrom and his first place finish and John Lindstrom finished 4th.  

In 1a girls, Harper Newcome of Central Christian finished 2nd overall.
