INMAN, Kan. — The Inman softball team is headed back to the Class 2-1A state tournament.

The No. 2-seeded Teutons punched their ticket Wednesday with an 11-0 run-rule victory over No. 6 Ashland/South Central in the regional championship game in Inman. This marks the third straight season the Teutons will play in the state tournament.

Inman opened the day with a 7-1 semifinal win over No. 7 Medicine Lodge before pulling away in the championship game.

The Teutons broke a scoreless game open with four runs in the third inning, then added seven more in the fourth to take control. Inman finished with nine hits and took advantage of six Blue Wolves errors.

Taylor Froese led the Teutons by going 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Sharley Leonhardt went 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Ellie Thimmesch added a hit and two RBIs, while Adi Alcala drove in two runs.

Lyla Levin earned the win in the circle, throwing five hitless innings. She struck out six, walked two and hit one batter.

Inman improved to 24-2 and will return to the state tournament after finishing as Class 2-1A state runner-up last season, also with a 24-2 final record. The Teutons placed fourth at state in 2024.

Ashland/South Central finished the game with no hits. Jenna Smit took the loss, allowing nine hits and 11 runs, two earned, in four innings.

The state tournament will begin Monday with opponent and location to be determined by KSHSAA.
