
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of County Commissioners plans to hold a special work session on Tuesday after its regular meeting to talk about environmental health and septic permits in the county.
As part of the discussion, there will be information on county water prevalence and geology as it pertains to wastewater, how contaminants in wastewater influence groundwater and surface waters, how current code is structured, including the wastewater permit process, along with the county's soil profiles.
Staff will also discuss its challenges and what people don't know about the subject that may make it difficult, also they'll discuss how they manage cases and how to best inform the public on the county's website.
