Linda Lou Mendoza, 73, of Hutchinson, died February 13, 2022, at Hutchinson Health & Rehab. She was born July 13, 1948, in Dodge City, to Frank and Esther (Ascencio) Gonzales.
Linda graduated from Ingalls High School in 1960. She was primarily a homemaker. Linda was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved watching KU basketball. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crochet and embroidery. But most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.
On July 23, 1976, Linda married Guadalupe “Lupe” Mendoza, in Dodge City. He died November 7, 2021.
She is survived by: her children, Andrea Mendoza, Misty Mendoza, Jason Mendoza, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Mariah Sibley of Lawrence, Felicity and Ariel Mendoza of Wichita; stepchildren, Lillian Mendoza (Bob), Laura Enriquez (Jose), Deborah Vieyra (Tom), Ann Gonzales-Jaqui, Daniel Rivera (JoAnn), all of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family members.
Linda was preceded in death by: her parents; son, John; and sisters, Karen Gonzales and Patricia Morris.
Cremation has taken place. Private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
