Dwane Wiley Snyder |1933-2022|

Dwane Wiley Snyder, 88, died February 16, 2022, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson.  He was born December 25, 1933, in Glasco, to Richard and Ruby (Smith) Snyder.

Dwane graduated from high school in Salina.  For almost 40 years, he worked as a large claims insurance adjustor for what is now Nationwide Insurance. Dwane enjoyed rebuilding cars; he did everything from the mechanical work to the body work. Barney, his faithful four-legged companion was always by Dwane’s side.  Dwane also had a soft-spot for stray farm cats.  He LOVED cats, and never let a stray cat go hungry.  He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

On September 17, 1955, he married Amaryllis E. Bellerive, in Salina.  She died September 10, 2004, after sharing nearly 49 years of marriage.

Dwane is survived by:  daughter, Kimberly Wise (Billy) of Overland Park; son, Bradley Snyder (Scott McDonald) of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Joshua Wise, Kelley Thompson, Timothy Wise, Terrance Wise, and Christopher Wise; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Wanda (Snyder) Whitesell and Lucille (Snyder) Reynolds; and a granddaughter, Erin Wise.

Cremation has taken place.  Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Elliott Chapel.  The family will greet friends following the Rosary until 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 West 4th Avenue, Hutchinson.  Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
