HUTCHINSON, Kan. — In his chairman's comments Wednesday, Board of County Commissioners chair Ron Hirst lamented the low turnout for the local election Tuesday.
"Only 19.6% of registered voters turned out to vote in this election," Hirst said. "I hope that people will take this a little more serious coming up and study the issues and understand what's going on in front of them and have that ability to choose the direction and the way, and who represents them."
This is relatively close to what turnout was two years ago. In 2019, 7,952 people voted in Reno County. In 2021, it was 7,840.
