
The Salt City Racing season continued under the lights Friday night in Hutchinson, featuring a full slate of Stock Car and 360 Winged Sprint action that drew strong fields from across Kansas and surrounding states.
Stock Cars
In the Stock Car division, local drivers dominated both A-Main Qualifiers. In Qualifier 1, Hutchinson’s Jayce Reimer piloted the No. 775 machine to victory, holding off veteran John Allen of Chanute and Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City. Fellow Hutchinson racers Scott Miller and Jerrod Reimer rounded out the top five.

Qualifier 2 also stayed close to home, with Chris Pitts of Hutchinson driving the 01X car to first place after 12 fast laps. Braden Stoner of Wichita claimed second, followed by Mike Petersilie of Hoisington in third. Rounding out the top five were Tanner Thiel and Clint Smith, both representing Hutchinson.

360 Sprints – Winged (ASCS National)
Fans were treated to high-speed drama in the 360 Winged Sprint feature. After topping the dash, Blake Hahn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, started strong but ultimately settled for second as Whit Gastineau from Moore, Oklahoma, surged to victory in the 20-lap Feature. Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Sunnyvale, Texas, completed the podium with a solid third-place run.

Matt Covington (Glenpool, OK) and Austyn Gossel (Fort Collins, CO) rounded out the top five, followed closely by Jason Martin of Liberal, Kansas. Kansas racer Zach Blurton from Quinter finished seventh, while Brady Baker of Alexander, Arkansas, placed eighth.
A Night of Competitive Racing
The event brought together top-tier regional talent and showcased Hutchinson’s thriving racing scene. Local fans packed the grandstands to cheer on hometown favorites like the Reimer brothers and Chris Pitts, all of whom delivered standout performances on their home track.
Salt City Racing continues tonight as pits open at noon, gates at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30, and the green flag drops at 7 p.m.
