
Dorothy Moon Beeman died peacefully at home on September 13, 2020, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Denver, she was born on May 5, 1929, to Francis Gordon and Lillian Moon. She graduated from Denver East High School, Colorado Women’s College and the University of Denver, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. After college, she was a teacher at the Wallace School (subsequently known as the Wallace Village for Children), which provided innovative treatment and rehabilitation to children with brain injuries and other disabilities.
In September, 1960, she married Robert C. Beeman and together they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 10, three days before her passing. She was also a long-time member of Chapter CN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, her daughter Missy Fagerstrom and Missy’s husband Brian (all of Denver), and by her son Chuck and granddaughter Julia Wiese Beeman, and Chuck’s companion Margarita G. Pérez (all of Miami, Florida).
Dorothy will be interred in a private ceremony at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Special Olympics, https://give.specialolympics.org/page/contribute/memorial-tribute.
