KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin a signing project, mainly in Kingman County, but stretching into Harper, Pratt, Sedgwick and Sumner counties, the week of June 15.

The work includes sign installation and the placement of new high-performance flat sheet signs and wooden signposts.

Work will generally be on the shoulders and should have minimal traffic impact.

The project will take place in the following locations:

  1. U.S. 54 from the Pratt/Kingman County Line to the east junction with K-14 east of Pratt.
  2. All of K-11
  3. K-14, K-42, and U.S. 400 on specific segments within Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick, Sumner, Harper, and Pratt counties.

Work should be complete by the end of the 2026 construction season.

Jon Fulsom Construction, based in Wellington, is the prime contractor on the nearly $1.2 million project.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
