RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Residents will have an opportunity to get an inside look at local emergency medical services later this month, as Reno County EMS hosts a pair of community open houses.

The events are designed to give the public a behind-the-scenes view of EMS operations, including station tours, equipment demonstrations and opportunities to meet the paramedics and emergency responders who serve the community.

The first open house is scheduled for April 17 from 10 a.m. to noon at Station #2 in Hutchinson. A second event will follow on April 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Station #3 in Arlington.

Reno County EMS officials say the open houses are an opportunity to highlight the work that goes into providing emergency care across the county, noting that the job involves far more than simply responding to calls.

The department also emphasized that its facilities and continued growth are made possible through community support, which plays a key role in maintaining and expanding local emergency services.

Community members are encouraged to attend, bring their families and ask questions while learning more about how EMS operates and responds to emergencies throughout Reno County.
