The No. 18-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team takes on its second-straight unbeaten opponent on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons (6-1, 1-0 KJCCC) will meet No. 14 Butler (6-0, 1-0 KJCCC) in a Jayhawk Conference battle at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Power Plant in El Dorado.

The game will be broadcast live on KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 1:45 p.m. with Glen Grunwald (PBP). The game will be streamed live on Butler Creative TV beginning at 1:45 p.m.

As usual when the Blue Dragons and Grizzlies get together, the defensive play will be at an ultra-high level.

The Blue Dragons rank eighth in the Jayhawk allowing 59.2 points per game and are seventh in field-goal defense at 36.2 percent. The Grizzlies led the Jayhawk in scoring defense at 46.0 points per game allowed and are third in field-goal defense at 30.6 percent.

The Blue Dragons have reeled off four-straight wins, the latest in a 64-47 victory over previously unbeaten Garden City on Wednesday at the Sports Arena. Hutchinson's defense was tested and held the Broncbusters 34 points under their season scoring average.

Offensively, the Dragons were led by sophomore Dylan Alexander, who posted her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Going 5-0 in the non-conference, Butler started its conference season off with a come-from-behind 55-45 victory at Coffeyville on Wednesday. The Grizzlies trailed 28-27 at halftime and outscored the Red Ravens 28-17 in the second half.

Butler head coach Mike Helmer returns seven players from last season and Louisiana Tech transfer Elina Syniakova. In their five non-conference wins, the Grizzlies' average winning margin was 34.0 points per game.

Sophomore guard Ashley Singhateh is Butler's leading scorer at 14.5 points per game. Syniakova averages 12.3 points per game and Mya Mayberry averages 10.5 points per game.

Saturday's game will be the 99th in the Hutchinson-Butler series with the Blue Dragons holding a 64-34 advantage. Last year the Blue Dragons swept the season series with the Grizzlies, winning 57-53 in El Dorado and 54-49 at the Sports Arena.
