LAWRENCE, Kan.&nbsp;- With football season just around the corner, Kansas football will host its 2nd Annual Lawrence Kickoff Party presented by the Drive to Zero Coalition and Kansas Department of Transportation, Folds of Honor as well as adidas. New this year, the event will take place at South Park on Mass St. on Saturday, August 24 from 5:00-8:00 p.m., coinciding with the Downtown Lawrence Welcome Back Jayhawks Weekend where you will be able to shop inside and outside at participating stores and enjoy various street performers throughout the day from 10:00 a.m. &ndash; 8:00 p.m. Admission to the all-day event is free. Kansas fans will also have the opportunity to shop the latest KU merchandise within a Rally House pop-up shop. &nbsp; Kansas football kicks off its 2024 season on Thursday, August 29, when the Jayhawks host Lindenwood in Children&apos;s Mercy Park at 7 p.m. CT. The following week, Kansas travels to Illinois on Saturday, September 7, then returns to Children&apos;s Mercy Park on Friday, September 13&nbsp;at 6 PM to host UNLV.
