TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas Volleyball Association released its 2026 preseason rankings Wednesday, with several area teams earning spots in the top 10 of their respective classifications.
The preseason rankings are based on classifications from enrollment figures for the 2025-26 school year. The KVA said the rankings will be adjusted when updated classifications are released at the end of September.
McPherson opens the season ranked No. 6 in Class 4A. Hesston and Halstead are both ranked in Class 3A, with Hesston at No. 4 and Halstead at No. 5.
In Class 2A, Moundridge is ranked No. 7 and Inman is No. 8. Little River earned the No. 1 ranking in Class 1A Division I, while Goessel is No. 3 and St. John-Hudson is No. 7.
Hutchinson-Central Christian is ranked No. 9 in Class 1A Division II.
Blue Valley West is ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, followed by Mill Valley and Olathe Northwest. St. Thomas Aquinas tops Class 5A, Andale is No. 1 in Class 4A and Silver Lake leads Class 3A.
Ellinwood earned the top spot in Class 2A, while Little River and Linn lead Class 1A Division I and Division II, respectively.
