Task force busts SW Kan. drug distribution ring

FINNEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect on drug distribution allegations.

On Friday, the Garden City/Finney County Joint Drug Task Force (JDTF) completed an investigation and obtained a search warrant for 301 N. 12th Street in Garden City, according to Sgt. Lana Urteaga.

At 7a.m., the Garden City/Finney County S.W.A.T. team served the warrant and located Carlos Gonzalez-Rivera, 22, of Garden City, in the backyard and Victor Irigoyen, 23, of Garden City, hiding inside the residence and took both into custody without incident.

During a search of the residence, the JDTF seized approximately 567 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 2 grams of suspected marijuana, scales, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia indicative of distribution of controlled substances

Gonzalez-Rivera was booked into the Finney County Jail on requested charges of Distribution of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Irigoyen was booked into jail on requested charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana.
