
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 1 Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team picked up a 68-23 win over Tabor College JV on Friday at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
The Blue Dragons struggled early on, but took advantage of 29 Bluejay turnovers, scoring 29 points off of them.
Hutchinson (3-0) finished the game with 21 steals, four each from Dylan Alexander, Madi Denison, and Kahlen Norris.
Landon Forbes scored a career-high 16 points in the win, while also recording three steals. Brynne Katcher finished with 13 points, knocking down all six free throw attempts.
The Blue Dragons dominated in the paint, outscoring the Bluejays, 44-12. HutchCC finished with 23 fast break points and 35 points from the bench.
HutchCC out-rebounded Tabor, 44-29, including 17 offensive rebounds.
Tabor was led by Ellie McKellips with six points, all coming in the first half.
The Blue Dragons will host Murray State College (4-0) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Arena, as part of the BSN Sports Tip-off Classic.
