Buhler High seniors qualify for state finals in KidWind contest

For the fourth consecutive year, Buhler High School seniors Isaak Neighbor and Andrew Morgan have qualified for the state championship in the KidWind competition. 

The KidWind Challenge is a STEM based competition open to elementary, middle and high school students. The competition kicked off in 2009.  

It is held annually and allows students to explore the power of the wind.  The building and testing of wind turbines and then compete against teams in their age division.

The turbines are built and placed in a 48-inch by 48-inch wind tunnel. The turbines are then tested to see how much energy is produced.  

Other parts of the competition are a knowledge quiz, a panel presentation and an instant challenge.  

The pair will be competing in the state event in Salina on April 5.  

Andrew will be attending Kansas State-Salina, and Isaak will be attending the University of Wyoming next year.
