Airbags, seatbelts help prevent injury in Wednesday wreck

RENO COUNTY — A driver was cited after an accident at Smoots Creek and Haven Road Wednesday evening.

According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, Wanda Day along with passenger Karen Zoglman were west bound on Smoots Creek in her 2014 black Ford Edge while Cody Hammer was south bound in his 2010 black Ford F150.

When they entered the intersection the F150 collided with the Edge causing the airbags to deploy in the Edge and moving it off the roadway to the southwest.

No injuries were reported, seat belts were worn by all parties. Side curtain airbags were deployed in the Edge, both vehicles were driven from the scene. Wanda Day was cited for failure to yield right of way at an uncontrolled intersection.

The call happened just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
