
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Health Department Director Karla Nichols has several items before the Board of Reno County Commissioners on Tuesday.
Nichols will present the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan, discuss a grant application to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and go over the department's accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board.
Also presenting before the commission Tuesday is Kari Mailloux, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Hutchinson Community Foundation and Public Works Director Don Brittain. There are several public works items on the commission's consent agenda, including revisions to its broadband pole policy, buried utilities policy, county road entrance and culvert policy and oversize and overweight haul loads policy.
A pair of purchases for solid waste are on the agenda as well, including an excavator and the purchase of a new scale along with moving the current scale to the new scale house.
The Board of Reno County Commissioners meets Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Courthouse.
