STAFFORD – Sadie Dykes, 105, died Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford. Born July 18, 1916 near Penalosa she was the daughter of John Wesley and Lily Farney Shrum. On December 1, 1945 she married Wayne Dykes. He died November 20, 2005. She is survived by step-daughter: Donna Sullivan. Caregiver/Niece: Joan Bryan. Nieces: Kay Lammey, Betty Webster and Sherry Mull. Step-grandchildren: Teresa Mitchell, Tory Baucum and Todd Baucum.
Nine step- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by step-son: Jim Dykes. Siblings: Roy Shrum, Hettie Fisher, Raymond Shrum, Lucy Millspaugh, Louise Dupee, Junior Shrum and June Bryan. Nephew: Scott Bryan. Niece: Judy Block.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 30 at Stafford Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Stafford Food Bank in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, a celebration of Sadie’s life and Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
