The McPherson Police Department will soon add a new Police Incident Command Trailer to its emergency response capabilities, thanks to a $100,000 U.S. Congressional Appropriation COPS Grant secured with support from U.S. Senator Jerry Moran.
Police Chief Mikel Golden, Captain Ryan Bauer, and Assistant Administrative Support Supervisor Beth Odell submitted the grant application to enhance the department’s readiness during high-risk calls, crisis negotiations, disaster relief, and local events. The trailer, to be built by Jet Stream Systems, will also be available to assist local industries and businesses when a mobile command center is needed.

“This is an important investment in the safety of our community and the ability of our officers to respond effectively during critical incidents,” Chief Golden said. “We are grateful to Senator Moran for his continued support of law enforcement and public safety in McPherson.”
Department officials said the new command trailer will help fulfill the McPherson Police Department’s mission to enforce laws equitably, protect constitutional rights, deliver professional police services, and strengthen relationships with the community.
