Reno County Commission to discuss emergency extension Tuesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of Reno County Commissioners will discuss extending the local disaster declaration for COVID-19 as part of their agenda on Tuesday.

Also before the commission will be the long-awaited Reno County Zoning Regulations regarding Commercial Wind Energy Conversion Systems.

In addition, Ark Valley Electric will have a conditional use permit for E & E Legacy Farms, Inc. to establish a one-megawatt AC/1.4-megawatt DC single axis tracking solar system (solar farm) on agricultural land on the south side of E. 108th Avenue, approximately 825 feet east of the intersection of N. Sunrise Road and E. 108th Avenue.

The commission will receive the quarterly report from Horizons Mental Health Center and the annual update from the county's IT department. They will also discuss an expansion of the gas collection and control system at the Reno County Landfill and receive regular reports.

The Board of Reno County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Reno County Annex Conference Room.
