NICKERSON, Kan. — Additional officers from the Reno County Sheriff's Office were deployed to Nickerson High School Monday morning after a threat was found in a bathroom there on Friday.

"We had a male write, I guess you could call it a bomb threat, that he had a bomb, on our men's restroom stall," said Penny Stoss with USD 309. "We just had extra police there just in case today. The investigation has been completed. It's been determined that the threat was not credible and the issue has already been resolved."

The district added the presence Monday until they had a chance to talk to the writer and any other witnesses.

"The investigation started around 2:30 on Friday," Stoss said. "It's pretty much completed, we just couldn't finish it until the students were back in the building so we could talk to the students in question."

As those involved are juveniles, no further information can be released by the school.
