
Richard Lee ‘Dick’ Owens, 72, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 27, 2020, at Hospice House. He was born Aug. 27, 1948, in Jacksonville, FL, the son of John and Pauline (Billings) Owens.
Dick graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966 and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He worked as a fabricator in aircraft manufacturing for Cessna and Global Engineering. Dick also was a representative for the Jewel Tea Company and worked as a first-responder and EMT. He was an avid K-State Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Dick was also a member of Hutchinson Community College Quarterback Club, serving as president.
On June 21, 1985, he married Janine Ann Graham in Hutchinson. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, Steven Owens and Scott Owens (Jennifer), all of Wichita; granddaughters, Mikaela Smith (Harris), Germany, Taylor Stevenson (fiancé, Carson Wittman), Newton, and Allison Owens, Wichita.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan., 2, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary.
Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday.
