Rice County man hospitalized after 2-vehicle crash

CLARK COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 8:30a.m. Tuesday in Clark County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Volvo passenger vehicle driven by Tesfay A. Gebrewahd, 38, Jacksonville, FL., was southbound on U.S. 283  at U.S. 54 in Minneola.

The driver failed to yield at the stop sign when turning right and struck a westbound 2005 Peterbilt semi driven by Hugo Rene Hernandez Jr., 25, Sterling.

EMS transported Gebrewahd and Hernandez Jr. to the hospital in Minneola. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
