Proposals sought in Reno County/Hutchinson’s fight against addiction

 The Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Oversight Committee is inviting proposals for its next round of local grants aimed at preventing and treating substance use disorders in Reno County.

Since 2024, the committee has awarded close to $175,000 from nearly $500,000 received through opioid settlement distributions. Past awards have supported programs at the United Way of Reno County, the Reno County District Attorney’s Office, Horizons Mental Health Center, and PrairieStar Health Center.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants include:
•  501(c)(3) nonprofits serving Reno County.
•  Special purpose units of government proposing innovative projects.
•  Community groups without 501(c)(3) status using an eligible fiscal sponsor.

Grant proposals from individuals or organizations that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

How to apply

Application materials and full details are available on the county website: renocountyks.gov/municipality-fights-addiction-fund. Submit an electronic application (PDF format), including any support letters, by 4:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10, 2025. Email the complete packet—no larger than 15 MB—to [email protected].

Awarded projects will be required to sign grant documents prior to receiving funds. Finalists may be asked to participate in in-person interviews as part of the review process.
