Dust collector catches fire at Kuhn Krause Thursday night; no one hurt

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A fire at Kuhn Krause Thursday night was quickly brought under control.

According to a release from the Hutchinson Fire Department, crews were called out just before 10 p.m.to 305 South Monroe where they found smoke throughout the building.

A laser CNC machine with an 80 cubic foot dust collector was on fire. Crews used chemical fire extinguishers to keep the fire in check while building power was turned off.

All employees got out safely and the machine was isolated from the rest of the power system and the smoke was ventilated out. No one was hurt.

Reno County Dispatch, Hutchinson Police, Reno County EMS and Evergy assisted.
