
Margie M. Kaufman, 87, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Pine Village. She was born March 12, 1933 in Moundridge, the daughter of Jonas H. and Anna (Kaufman) Vogt.
She graduated from Moundridge High School. After high school, she went on to work as a medical office assistant at Moundridge Clinic. Margie worked there for her entire career.
She was a member of Eden Mennonite Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Margie was on the founding board of the Moundridge Library. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, and jigsaw puzzles. Margie loved decorating and preparing meals for holidays, especially Christmas. Above all, Margie loved her family. She was always spending her free time attending her children and grandchildren’s activities.
Margie was united in marriage to Darrel D. Kaufman on May 31, 1953 in Moundridge. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Belinda (Jack) Galle of Pratt, and Sandy Stephenson (Roger Kampling) of McPherson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma (Jim) Neufeld of Richfield, MN, and Ellen Stucky of Moundridge; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Vogt and Bonnie Kaufman, both of Moundridge.
Margie was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcy Stucky; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Galle; sisters, Letha Ediger and Evelyn Goering; and brothers, Weldon Vogt, Marlin Vogt and Kenneth Vogt.
Private family services will be held at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2020 at Moundridge Funeral Home; the family will not be present. Due to COVID-19, friends that want to pay their respects to the family may do so by driving on the west side of Eden Mennonite Church at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, the casket will be closed.
