HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Several Reno County and surrounding area teams earned recognition in the Kansas Volleyball Association’s Week 2 rankings, released Wednesday.
In Class 4A, McPherson moved up to No. 6 with a 6-3 record, while Andale held steady at No. 4 at 12-1. Clay Center (14-1) and Hayden (12-0) topped the class.
Class 3A featured three area schools inside the top five. Hesston, 9-4, remained at No. 4, just ahead of Halstead (6-3) at No. 5. Hoisington checked in at No. 3 after a strong start. Silver Lake (11-1) retained the top spot.
In Class 2A, Moundridge dropped one position to No. 3 despite a perfect 14-0 start, while Sedgwick came in at No. 5 at 14-4. Ellinwood, also undefeated at 11-0, remained the No. 1 team.
Little River continued to lead Class 1A Division I, ranked No. 1 with an 11-1 record. In the same class, Goessel entered at No. 10 after a 5-4 start.
The KVA will adjust its rankings later this month when new school classifications are released. Rankings are based on records reported through Sept. 15.
