Norma Jean Langhofer Drinen was born Dec. 5, 1928 on the family farm west of Woodbine, Ks. She lived there and married Carrol Drinen. They managed the family farm after her parents moved to Abilene. The farm was sold in 1966 and they moved to Abilene.
Mom worked for a doctor’s office in Abilene. She later worked as a transcriptionist for a radiology group at Asbury Hospital in Salina. She graduated RN school at Asbury, specializing in rehab nursing.
Carrol and Norma Jean moved to Belle Vista, Arkansas for a time, then moved to Hesston, where they retired. She was a confirmed member of Methodist churches and enjoyed quilting for her family members.
They had four daughters, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters: Janet Sherraden, Connie Beuttel and Cindy Princ and one son-in-law, Mark Princ. She was preceded in death by her husband Carrol and daughter Patsy Danzinger, and three sons-in-law: Ken Danziger, Bill Beutell and Ken Sherraden. She is survived by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She passed away at her home in Maize, on March 18, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at the Woodbine, Cemetery at 2 PM on April 9, 2022.
