KANSAS CITY, Mo. ā Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is scheduled to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for a disciplinary hearing on Sept. 30, according to a report from ESPNās Adam Schefter.
The hearing, set for the day after Week 4, stems from Riceās involvement in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas during the 2024 offseason. In July, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation.
The timing means Rice will be available for the Chiefsā first four games ā against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil, at home against the Philadelphia Eagles, on the road against the New York Giants, and at home against the Baltimore Ravens. A suspension is expected to follow immediately after the hearing, with the club bracing for a potential four- to six-game ban. The NFLās personal conduct policy carries a baseline six-game suspension, though a penalty of up to eight games remains possible.
At a minimum, Rice is expected to miss games against Jacksonville, Detroit, Las Vegas and Washington. A six-game suspension would also sideline him for trips to Buffalo and Denver, while an eight-game ban would keep him out against Indianapolis and on Thanksgiving at Dallas.
