Nick Hague added another chapter to his remarkable run in the Hutchinson City Men's Match Play Championship, capturing his ninth title in the past 10 years with a strong finish in Sunday's championship match.

Hague and Mason Faucett were tied through the first 14 holes before Hague took control over the closing stretch.

On the newly designed par-5 15th hole, Hague's second shot found the back fringe. He two-putted for birdie to move 1-up with three holes remaining.

He extended his advantage on the par-4 16th when he drove the green, leaving himself a 6-foot eagle putt. Hague converted the putt to take a commanding 2-up lead with just two holes left to play.

Needing only to halve the 17th hole to secure the championship, Hague calmly rolled in a clutch 12-foot par putt, clinching the match and earning his ninth City Match Play title in the last decade.

Tournament organizers said 56 golfers competed in this year's event, the largest field the championship has seen in many years.

Attention now turns to the Hutchinson City Stroke Play Championship, scheduled for August. Tournament entries are expected to become available later this week.
