The Kansas Department of Transportation has begun a highway resurfacing project on K-14 in Harper and Kingman counties.
The overlay project started the week of July 13 and covers approximately 12 miles from Harper north to the intersection of K-42.
During construction, traffic will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Lane widths will be restricted to 11 feet, and vehicles longer than 100 feet will not be permitted through the work zone.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of September.
The project carries a construction cost of approximately $2.2 million. Pearson Construction of Wichita is serving as the primary contractor.
KDOT reminds motorists to use caution in work zones, obey posted traffic control devices and avoid using hand-held mobile devices while driving through active construction areas.
Drivers can check current road conditions by visiting KanDrive or calling 511. Construction updates for south-central Kansas are available through KDOT's South Central Kansas project updates.
