Robin Eugene Fickes, 65, of Canton, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Monday, February 21st, 2022 at Newton Medical Center, Newton.

Robin was born in Oakland, Maryland on March 6, 1956, a son of Iva May (VanMeter) and Charles William Fickes.

Robin attended schools in Oakland, Maryland.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in McPherson.

Through the years Robin worked as a truck driver for 12 years, a mechanic for 25 years for Moody Oil and Becker Tire, McPherson, and McPherson Backhoe as a Line Locator, Conway.

Robin enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, his dogs, woodworking, gardening, his jeep, loved mowing his yard and spending time with his friends and family.

Robin Fickes was united in marriage to Jolene Diane Holmes on April 21, 1978 in Clay Center. The young couple established their first home together in Clay Center. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and a daughter, Jeremy, Kimberly and Wesley.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jolene Fickes, of Canton; his children, Jeremy Fickes and his wife Kallie, of Newman Grove, Nebraska, Kim Morris and her husband Scott, of O'Fallon, Illinois, Wesley Fickes and his wife Carol, of Canton; his mother Iva VanMeter, of Oakland, Maryland; his siblings, Charles Fickes and his wife Barb, of Clay Center; Sherry Graham and her husband Fred, of Oakland, Maryland, George Fickes and his wife Deb, of Oakland, Maryland and Lloyd Fickes and his wife Irene, of DuBois, Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren,

Robin was preceded in death by his father and granddaughter, McKynze.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24th, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel in McPherson.

Burial will be at a later date.
